At some point in the past, I came upon a Bot to follow on Mastodon called Bit Art Bot: https://freeradical.zone/@bitartbot
It posts images generated by randomly-generated mathematical functions. It usually uses a 2-bit coloring scheme (while and black), and sometimes grayscale gradients.
I wanted to make a few modifications, so I (with Claude Code) built my own version: Bit Artr.
When you pull it up, hit the Generate button, and enjoy. Keep hitting that button to see more random bit art. You can also:
- Edit the expression directly, if you want to adjust the image or play around with math.
- Choose from several pre-defined color schemes, and even define your own.
- Adjust settings of the random function generation, such as how many terms should be used, whether expressions should use both x and y, what range of literal value should be used, and what range of values to plot.
